Why
Scholarship - students who complete the paper and attend the day-long event will compete for a $500 scholarship to Mississippi State University in one of the career paths listed.
Networking - engage with research and industry experts, state and community leaders, members of the community, and your peers to discuss solutions to global hunger and poverty.
Hands-on Experience - participate, with your teachers, in interactive activities on Mississippi State University's campus to explore research and work currently taking place in Mississippi to address global challenges.
How
To participate in the Global Youth Institute, students research a developing country and specific global food security factor and write a five page paper with the guidance of a teacher/mentor at their high school. The Global Youth Institute is scheduled in mid-October in Des Moines, Iowa. The research paper is due on February 3, 2023 online.
